It was a generic one. It actually said "replavement battery" on the actual charger. It worked fine, just not as advertised. The company then sent me the correct charger and it is fine and as advertised, so I am quite happy. Laptopmate was very quick with email responses and VERY willing to correct the mistake. Lately she said it didn't appear to be charging all the time. Home for the holidays I verified that the battery (which had been replaced) was charging ok with my HP adapter. Sent email to LaptopMate and received a reply in 15 min (late at night no less). One email exchange later and they sent me a new charger in one day (and this during the holiday rush), and it is working fine.One note that might help others whose battery doesn't want to be charged to 100%. When the new charger arrived it wanted to only charge to 27%. A web search suggested that the (Windows 7) Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery driver needed to be de/reinstalled. The battery then indicated 100% charge and has charged properly since. While I wouldn't ordinarly give 5 stars to something that eventually failed, the prompt, polite, and eager response by LaptopMate pushed it back up to 5 stars. The Anker... This is the first adapter that I received that actually came packaged in it's own box & included some written materials regarding it's uses, warranty and so forth. Usually these come in a generic box without any type of documentation so I was impressed with that. The charger worked fine as soon as I plugged it in. The "block" portion of the adapter does not seem to heat up at all. I've had others that become quite hot to the touch after using for a while & that makes me a little nervous. Overall this product does what it's supposed to & the fact that it came with a 1 year warranty was a big plus for me. |
